Who's Going to Speak up For Palestine? — DJ Enigma XXL album cover

Artist: DJ Enigma XXL · Genre: Electronic / Protest · Released: May 2025 · Format: Album · Tracks: 7

Some records in a catalog mark time. This one interrogates it. Four months after Long Live Trap EDM opened the Enigma XXL lane on pure impact, the alias turns the same aggression outward — Who’s Going to Speak up For Palestine? is the first record in the run whose title is a question aimed at the listener, and the record never lets that question close.

The track titles map the argument. “Cycle of the Gun” names the machinery; “What Set You Claim?” imports street-loyalty language into a geopolitical frame, asking which side of a line the listener actually stands on. The title track repeats the album’s challenge as a hook rather than a headline. Then the record’s center of gravity shifts: “Inshallah,” “Love in the Rubble,” “Palestinian Women” — faith, tenderness, and the people who carry a place’s survival. Sequenced that way, the protest is not the whole story; it is the frame around a human one. The rage has an address, and so does the love.

In the catalog’s chronology the placement matters. This is May 2025 — between the deep-house patience of Deep Afro House in April and the family record Mi Familia in June. Read in sequence, the catalog is building a worldview in public: the groove, the conscience, the family. Enigma XXL is where the conscience speaks loudest, and this is its clearest statement so far.

Context: Protest has always had a dancefloor wing. Public Enemy proved a beat could carry a brief — that the boombox and the pamphlet could be the same object. Rage Against the Machine turned festival volume into an argument about power that a generation memorized like lyrics. And in 2024 Macklemore’s “Hind’s Hall” showed the modern route: a Palestine-solidarity record released outside the usual gatekeepers, built to be shared rather than charted. Who’s Going to Speak up For Palestine? belongs to that lineage — independent, uninvited, and uninterested in being neutral about its subject.

Verdict: The catalog’s conscience, at full volume — the question outlasts the record. 4.5/5
